Varun Naidu formerly served in Inspector Strategic Services Branch

Involved in the areas of drug investigations, Varun Naidu supervised seven constables in relations to investigations of these drugs. These included indoor marijuana grow operations and drug trafficking. Being a supervisor, he provided an oversight on all the investigations and developed strategies with his team to reduce the impacts of drugs in the community through education, enforcement and community partnerships. Besides, Varun has been the inspector in charge of Operational Support Branch where he managed Traffic Section, Vulnerable Sector, Community Policing, Victim Services, Community Relations, and School Liaison Units. In September 2017, Varun served in Inspector Strategic Services Branch where he conducted reviews and coordinated special projects for the Department. He also supervised the Emergency Management Section and the Victim Services Unit.  Overall, Varun holds a solid experience of more than 26 years in operational policing at Delta Police Department. H

Formerly being the part of Emergency Response Team, Varun Naidu conducted high order operations that fell outside the skills, knowledge, and abilities of regular members such as warrant service, barricaded persons and hostage rescue. Thereafter, he was selected as the team leader of the Emergency Response Team where he supervised all the tactical operations and coordinated training. Possessing proficiency as a supervisor, Varun Naidu formerly supervised the Patrol shift as the Staff Sergeant Watch Commander at Delta Police department. Here, he was responsible for a team of seventeen constables and two sergeants conducting the patrol and uniform functions. Serving Delta Police Department for years, Varun Naidu gained expertise in overseeing 200 sworn officers, 73 support staff, and over 200 volunteers. Besides, he operated an annual budget of 34 million dollars. Being the part of management team, he worked collaboratively with Delta Police Association and the Canadian Union of Public Employees.  As a former Sergeant at Delta Police Department, Varun acted a supervisor and provided insight on all the investigations and developed strategies with the team, thus reducing the impact of drugs in the community through education and enforcement.
