Varun Naidu is a hands-on expertise in resolving conflicts

Conflict resolution is all about resolving a problem or an issue between two or more people. It provides the individuals with a skill to learn how to handle disputes efficiently and the key to prevent it from hindering the professional growth of others. Have a look at the tips to have an effective conflict resolution process –

Figure out the cause of the problem

It is important to know the root cause of the issue in order to resolve it easily. You can use a series of questions to identify the cause. It is required to give both parties to chance to share their side of the story. You can have a better understanding of the situation as well as demonstrate your impartiality.

Look beyond the triggering incident

Sometimes, the two parties start attacking each other personally instead of addressing the real problem. Thus, you can help them out by asking them to look beyond the triggering incident to find the real cause.

Try to resolve the conflict

You can ask the disputants to stop fighting and start cooperating, thus taking a step towards resolving the conflict. It is important to make them aware of how the situation could be changed.

Reach a negotiated agreement

You need to make both the parties shake hands and ask them to accept one of the alternatives. You need to be aimed at reaching a negotiated agreement.
