Varun Naidu formerly conducted patrol and uniform functions
Serving as the Acting Inspector
at the Patrol Division, Varun Naidu
formerly served as the in charge of Patrol Division. Here, he managed first
response priorities and services to the community. He also supervised four
platoon shifts consisting of approximately 80 officers.
As the in charge of Operational
Support Branch, Varun managed
Traffic Section, Vulnerable Sector, Community Policing, Victim Services,
Community Relations and School Liaison Units. It was his responsibility to
ensure that the Operational Support Branch was adequately resourced and
managed.
Working as the member of Criminal
Investigation Branch, Varun Naidu
supervised seven constables in the areas of drug investigations that included
indoor marijuana grow operations and drug trafficking. Being a supervisor, he
provided an oversight on all the investigations and developed strategies with
his team to reduce the impacts of drugs in the community through education,
enforcement and community partnerships. As the part of Sergeant Delta Police
Drug Section, he supervised all administrative matters and managed an annual
budget of $932,000 that included wages and benefits.

Delta Police Drug Section, Varun Naidu
supervised seven constables in the areas of drug investigations. It included
indoor marijuana grow operations and drug trafficking. Besides, he provided
oversight on all the investigations and developed strategies within the team in
order to reduce the impact of drugs in the community through education,
enforcement and community partnership.
Thereafter, he served as a Staff
Sergeant Watch Commander in Delta Police Department where he supervised the
patrol shift. He was responsible for a team of seventeen constables and two
sergeants conducting patrol and uniform functions.
Varun gained expertise and
adequate skills to be a part of Emergency Response Team where he conducted high
risk operations that fell outside the skills, knowledge, and abilities of
regular members such as warrant service, barricaded persons and hostage rescue.
Pertaining to his education
credentials, Varun graduated from
the University of British Columbia with Bachelor of Education. Pertaining to
the awards he has received, he won the Oliver Thompson Memorial Award at the
Police Academy.
