Varun Naidu developed strategies to reduce impact of drugs in the community

Varun Naidu has been a part of operational policing for over many years, Varun Naidu acts as an investigator, supervisor, manager, and executive. He holds a diverse background in Patrol Division, Drug Section, Criminal Investigation Branch, Emergency Response Team, and Community Policing.

Being the part of Delta Police Department, Varun formerly served as Inspector Strategic Services Branch in September 2017. He conducted reviews and coordinated special projects for the Department. He also supervised the Emergency Management Section and the Victim Services Unit.

Varun Naidu started his career with Patrol Division where he responded to calls for services as well as conducted investigations. He came up with problem solving initiatives to address the community concerns. He also supervised the constables and provided them with the guidance and leadership on all investigative and operational matters. 

Formerly serving as the inspector in charge of Operational Support Branch, Varun managed Traffic Section, Vulnerable Sector, Community Policing, Victim Services, Community Relations, and School Liaison Units. He considered it his responsibility to ensure that the Operational Support Branch was adequately resourced and managed. 

Earlier, Varun served as the part of Criminal Investigation Branch where he conducted drug and major crime investigations by making use of the principles of major case management. Varun served in the role of primary investigator and file coordinator in files including marijuana grow operations, homicides and other violent offences. 

In case of drug investigations, Varun Naidu supervised constables as a Sergeant at Delta Police Drug Section. Acting as the supervisor, he provided an insight on all the investigations and developed the strategies to reduce the impact of drugs in the community through education, and community partnerships. 

Pertaining to his education credentials, Varun graduated from the University of British Columbia with Bachelor of Education. Regarding the awards he has received, he won the Oliver Thompson Memorial Award at the Police Academy.

During his free time, Varun Naidu loves to watch sports especially NFL. Besides, he regularly goes to gym and has travelled a lot along with his family. Soon, he will join the Porsche club. he is quite fond of reading and watching movies.
