Varun Naidu Formerly Served As a Sergeant in Delta Police Drug Section

Wearing different hats in the course of an average day, a sergeant is expected to excel at all of them. These sergeants oversee personnel on a daily basis and are solely responsible for the morale, discipline and training of each member under their watch. They are here to make sure that the personnel are best taken care of, and are treated well. The position of a sergeant demands putting a cohesive team together in order to create unity towards a common goal. 

It is the responsibility of a sergeant to notice personnel absences and the deterioration of the work performance of a subordinate. Overall, a sergeant is a reliable individual who is considered highly important in the chain of command. 

Performing a broad range of supervisory responsibilities, a police sergeant establishes a relationship of trust among the members of the department. He is expected to confidently assume command when required. Have a look at the list of responsibilities that a sergeant needs to undergo – 

• A sergeant is responsible for educating the staff about regulatory changes and new police technology or methods.
• Reviews the police documents and conducts inspections of personnel and equipment
  Cooperates with the legal and law enforcement stakeholders and testifies in court as required

Formerly serving as a sergeant in Delta Police Drug Section, Varun Naidu supervised seven constables in the areas of drug investigations. It included indoor marijuana grow operations and drug trafficking. Besides, he provided oversight on all the investigations and developed strategies within the team in order to reduce the impact of drugs in the community through education, enforcement and community partnership. 

Later on, Varun Naidu served as a Staff Sergeant Watch Commander in Delta Police Department where he supervised the patrol shift. He was responsible for a team of seventeen constables and two sergeants conducting patrol and uniform functions. He worked to provide field support and guidance on all investigative and administrative matters, along with drafting and delivering performance evaluations. 

During his free time, Varun Naidu loves to watch sports especially NFL. Besides, he regularly goes to gym and has travelled a lot along with his family. Soon, he will join the Porsche club. Apart from this, he is quite fond of reading and watching movies.
