Just have a look at the four stages of emergency management –

Mitigation

Mitigation is all about taking action prior to the next disaster. It involves analyzing the risks, reducing them and insuring against them. It is achieved through regulations, local ordinances and building practices.

Be prepared

It involves a continuous cycle of planning, managing, organizing, training, equipping, evaluating and improving the activities in order to ensure the effective coordination and the enhancement of capabilities of concerned organizations.

Emergency response

It includes the use of necessary emergency services and the first responders. It includes a first wave of core emergency services that include the firefighters, police and ambulance crews. It is the responsibility of the emergency response team to take the appropriate personal protective measures. Besides, the team is responsible for advising personnel in the area of any potential threat. Being the member of emergency response team demands you to make multiple emergency response plans for the specific incidents.

Recovery

It involves restoring the affected area to its original state. The efforts related to the recovery deal with the issues and decisions that are made after the immediate needs are met.  It generally involves rebuilding destroyed property, re-employment, and the repair of essential infrastructure.

Thus, emergency response solely relies on the emergency plans at all levels of organizations. Being highly competent in emergency management, Varun Naidu formerly.
