Varun Naidu holds expertise in operational policing at Delta Police Department

If you are one of those who have always dream of serving your community and keeping the dangerous criminals off the street, the role of a police officer awaits you. People usually rattle of certain adjectives such as strong, brave or heroic when it comes to admiring a police officer. Truly justifying these adjectives, let’s have an insight into the life of such a police officer, Varun Naidu.

Being into the Delta Police Department for years, he formerly served as the sergeant here. He supervised seven constables in the areas of drug investigations. It included indoor marijuana grow operations and drug trafficking. Besides, he provided oversight on all the investigations and developed strategies within the team in order to reduce the impact of drugs in the community through education, enforcement and community partnership. 

In 2001, Varun Naidu grabbed the opportunity to be the member of Criminal Investigation Branch where he conducted drug and major case management. Varun served the role of primary investigator and file coordinator in files including marijuana grow operations, homicides, and other violent offences.

Being the part of Patrol Division, Varun Naidu responded to the calls for service as well as conducted investigations and problem-solving initiatives to address the community concerns. Besides, he availed the opportunity to supervise the constables and provided guidance and leadership on all investigative and operational matters. 

Overall, Varun holds a solid experience of more than 26 years in operational policing at Delta Police Department. He holds a diverse background in Community Policing, Patrol Division, Drug Section, Criminal Investigation Branch, and Emergency Response Team. 

Regarding his education credentials, Varun graduated from the University of British Columbia with Bachelor of Education. Pertaining to the awards he has received, he won the Oliver Thompson Memorial Award at the Police Academy. 

During his free time, Varun Naidu loves to watch sports especially NFL. Besides, he regularly goes to gym and has travelled a lot along with his family. Soon, he will join the Porsche club. He is quite fond of reading and watching movies.
